About Our Puppy Management Dog Training

We offer two types of programs for new puppy owners. See below for details:

1. Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy Kindergarten is a fun, introductory program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off on the right paw. We create a controlled and supervised environment where your pup can explore new objects, sounds, people and dogs. The learning experiences provide:

  • Peace of mind: Feel comfortable bringing your puppy to a training center where we follow strict safety and cleaning protocols.
  • Socialization: Let your puppy play with other people and pets and interact with new objects, such as toys and grooming tools.
  • Positive connotations: Make your puppy happy to learn skills and meet new people through positive first experiences.
  • Basic obedience skills: Solve common puppy issues with rewards for good behavior.
  • Memories you can cherish: Enjoy letting your furry friend meet other puppies and get a graduation certificate after they pass the course.

The program is 4 weeks long and limited to 6 puppies. See our FAQs for more information.

2. Puppy Behavior Classes

If  your puppy has endless energy or struggles with reactive behaviors, training lessons can:

  • Build confidence: Motivate your pup to learn new skills and practice training exercises.
  • Strengthen your bond: Spend quality time teaching basic commands you can implement into your dog’s daily routine.
  • Reinforce positive behavior: Encourage your four-legged furball to implement good behaviors with praise and rewards.
  • Increase your pup’s socialization: Practice interacting with other animals and people in a supervised, controlled setting.
  • Increase your dog’s overall safety: Teach your pup to follow your instructions in different scenarios and environments.

Puppy behavior classes are 1 hour in length. Call us at 512-348-7833, or have us contact you to get started.

Puppy Management FAQs Questions & Answers

Review our requirements to learn if you’re eligible to sign up for our puppy kindergarten in Austin, Texas, and surrounding areas:

  • Age: Your puppy must be between eight and 16 weeks old. If your puppy is beyond that age, they are eligible for our standard training programs.
  • Vaccination: You must show proof that the puppy is getting recommended vaccines. We prioritize safety and want to ensure your dog and the others who visit us stay happy and healthy.

We offer lifetime support to all of our clients. With that, you can always contact us with questions. We also recommend you check out our advanced programs to help you and your pup reach the highest potential.

We will let you know and ask if you’d like to continue the program, substitute lessons, or receive a refund.

If your dog is not receiving the recommended vaccines, we offer a puppy management lesson that will cover most of the basics in puppy kindergarten. Call us at (737) 348-0484 to get scheduled.

Our puppy classes cover sitting, walking, recall, crate training, socializing and engagement for dogs between eight and 16 weeks old.

  • “Place” training: Tell your puppy to visit a designated spot and stay there until released.
  • General safety and health review: Learn an overview of your dog’s needs and how to identify health concerns.

We have been so happy with the progress our pup has made! Sit Means Sit trainers have gone the extra mile to keep in touch and make sure we are staying consistent with training. I highly recommend for anyone looking to have a stronger connection with their dog!

For awhile I’d said my dog Buck had good heart but bad manners. After a year of working with him myself and getting virtually nowhere, I decided to come here. Christian and the rest of the staff heard my goals and helped me hit them. In less than a month, Buck has become a new dog. While he’s not perfect (but who is?), I feel so much better equipped to deal with the occasional slip up. Also, training has changed from a chore to the highlight of my morning. I could not recommend these folks more highly.
