Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. My very first dog growing up was a Brittany Spaniel named Suzie, who I’d like to think chose me as her person. She was a truly wonderful dog that I have countless memories of playing in my backyard. Since then I was a dog person and have always had a 4 legged companion with me.
Growing up, I received my degree in Anthropology from Oregon State University and went into a career in education. I worked at both the High School and Middle School levels here in the San Antonio area, and enjoyed working in a career where I could positively impact others. Throughout that time my dogs were always with me and I would enjoy having them around the house. I then adopted a small dog named Odessa who had some substantial behavioral problems and I needed help. I enrolled Odessa into a day train program with Sit Means Sit and was amazed to see the difference in her behavior. I was also impressed with the team and the relationships that the trainers had with their dogs. I wanted that!
I have since joined the team and use the skills that I have learned teaching in the classroom and enjoy applying them to the park, trail or wherever you spend time with your pup. My primary focus is pairing owners to the correct program to create joyful and respectful relationships between people and their animals that enrich our lives.
